Abstract :
Balancing and calculating weight of the aircraft before the aircraft
operated is very important in aviation safety, There are many cases of aircraft
accidents that occur because the aircraft is not in the right weight condition and is
not in a state of equilibrium. Some aircraft are subjected to an aircraft weight and
balance process during technical inspections, both in the aircraft maintenance
hangar and during operations in the maintenance line.
This study discusses the process of determining the center of gravity on the
Boeing 737-900ER using the calculation method available in the Weight and
Balance Control and Loading Manual Boeing 737-900ER. The research was
conducted at the hangar FL-Technics Indonesia and Lion Air terminal 2 located at
Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten.
From the results of calculating the weight and balance of the aircraft, it was
found that on long-range flight with full passengers and maximum load cargo, the
center of gravity point of aircraft at 37.79%MAC, on medium-range flight with full
passengers and maximum load cargo the center of gravity point of aircraft at
31.43%MAC, on short-range flight with full passengers and maximum load cargo
the center of gravity point of aircraft at 44.95 %MAC.
