Abstract :
Technological developments in the era of globalization are moving very
rapidly. One of the easiest ways to find information nowadays is to use the internet.
In the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, the internet network is important in
accessing a web-based academic information system that will greatly assist and
facilitate obtaining academic information for students, employees, record of
achievements, curriculum and class schedules without visiting campus. Academic
information system is a system designed to manage data related to academic
information.
In this research the server design begins with designing a Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol Server (DHCP) Server which is carried out on ether 2
which provides an IP address of 192.168.88.1 with a leases time of 30d 0;00;00.
Then design the DHCP client on the proxy so that the router can obtain an IP
address from the Internet Service Provider (ISP) network. Furthermore, the
implementation of DHCP Leases by assigning an IP address of 192.168.88.250 to
the client who makes a request to the DHCP server. Then the implementation of
static DNS for filtering on the web that forwards requests to the domain address at
the website address. Furthermore, the application of the Address Resolution
Protocol (ARP) to find out the Mac address of a host that is connected to a LAN or
internet network, by using the IP address of the host so that the server can run
properly.
From the results of data retrieval carried out for one week, it shows that the
network quality on the server has a throughput of 18.58 Bytes with the highest value
of 149 Kbps with a percentage of 13% and is in the bad category. Packet loss from
the results of the study got the best value with a value of 0.016 with a percentage of
0.01% and was included in the very good category. The value on delay has a very
good category in the observation for seven days with an average of 2.05 ms. The
performance of a network against a server when responding to a request is the
largest with a maximum bandwidth capacity of 74.8 Mbps.
