Abstract :
In the industrial world, sorting of goods is often done, for example in sorting food or other products, sorting goods can also be done by grouping the type, color, weight or shape of the goods. This study aims to design a prototype that is used to sort items by color automatically. With this research, it is expected to be able to overcome several problems in the work of sorting goods using human power such as human nature who gets tired easily so that the speed and accuracy in classifying goods can be less than optimal. In this study, the TCS3200 sensor is used as a color-based item detector, with the color indicators used are red, green, blue, and yellow. Servo motor is used as a separator of goods and infrared sensors as a counter to the number of items that have been sorted. Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) 16X2 is used to display the number of items according to the color indicator. All components used are connected to Arduino UNO for data processing.Keywords: Item, Color, TCS3200, RGB, Infrared. The results showed the success of the tool with a distance of 3 cm from the sensor, it can be concluded that the RGB value of each color with a sensor-to- goods distance of 3 cm has an RGB value reading that varies or can change. This RGB value change before reading is influenced by external factors, namely changing light.
