Abstract :
Fans of ornamental fish now almost know no age, namely from the group of
children, teenagers, adults, to the elderly, many are interested in freshwater
ornamental fish. For ornamental fish keepers who have busy work outside the home,
have difficulty in monitoring the water temperature in real time. Realtime is a
condition that actually occurs when the user accesses it. In addition, it also has
difficulties in terms of scheduled feeding, because normal working hours are until
17.00, even late at night. Therefore, feeding is usually done in the morning in large
quantities, so it is not good for the health of ornamental fish.
The purpose of this research is to create a tool that can monitor the
temperature of the aquarium water in real time and provide fish feed on a scheduled
basis based on the Internet of Things (IoT). The research tool is designed with acrylic
as the case material. This automatic fish feeding uses hardware in the form of a
Wemos D1 R32 microcontroller as a process block in the system control center. In
the input block there is an infrared sensor which is used to detect the remaining fish
feed in the container and a DS18B20 sensor to measure the temperature of the
aquarium water. In the actuator output block there is a servo motor that is used to
open and close the feed line, the viewer output block consists of two types of
interfaces, namely using a 128x32 OLED and the BLYNK application installed on a
smartphone. This fish feed tool can be said to be IoT-based because the system is
designed to be able to send notifications remotely via a smartphone when the
condition of the feed in the container is exhausted.
The results showed that for automatic feeding based on time input, the
average difference between setting time and actual time was 1.4 seconds to 1.8
seconds. The success rate of the notification system test based on the actual
conditions on the tool for the notification "Fish feed has been issued" and notification
"Feed exhausted" is 100%. The percentage of error in measuring the temperature of
the aquarium water based on the DS18B20 sensor reading is 7,02615%.
