Abstract :
In the era of globalization, security system technology is very important.
One of them is the security system on motorcycles which has developed very
rapidly. However, the security system used on motorcycles is still not safe enough
because it still has weaknesses that criminals can exploit to steal motorcycles.
Therefore we need an additional security system that is better on the vehicle itself
and is easy to use by vehicle owners. This study aims to create a security system on
a motorcycle using an Arduino Nano-based E-KTP and RFID. Where this security
system is equipped with an alarm, so that if the Tag ID card used does not match
the Tag ID code stored on the Arduino nano microcontroller, the motorcycle will
not turn on for starters.
In this study, RFID is used which is used to turn on the engine cut off
system on a motorcycle. In detecting the ID chip data on the Electronic Identity
Card (E-KTP), MFRC522 is used as a sensor. Arduino Nano is used to respond to
data that has been sent by MFRC522 for detection. So the motorcycle can be
started.
The results obtained in this test are that the RFID work tool system is able
to provide good results for reading Electronic Identity Cards (EKTP) with a
distance of 0 cm to 2.5 cm. Testing of work tools on motorcycles was carried out
10 times. There were 7 successful attempts and 3 unsuccessful attempts.
