Abstract :
BGP is an inter-autonomous system routing protocol method, one
of the characteristics and also a strength of the BGP routing protocol
is in its supporting attributes which will be used as parameters to
determine the best path to a site. Thisstudy aims to implement the BGP
routing protocol using two different router devices such as the Mikrotik
RB941-2nD-TC router and Cisco 2800 in order to compare the two
devices based on data transfer speed and the effect of data size on
transfer time. In this study, the system testing was implemented on 2
Cisco Router 2800 devices, 1 switch and 5 Personal Computers (PC)
directly, as well as the Mikrotik device with the implementation of 2
Mikrotik RB941-2nD-TC routerboards, 1 switch and 5 computers
directly. The test results show a speed comparison of 100MB, 300MB,
500MB and 800MB data. The Cisco 2800 router has a higher speed
than the Mikrotik RB941-2nD-TC router. While testing the Data
Transfer / sec Cisco 2800 router and mikrotik router RB941-2nD-TC
on data 100 MB, 300MB, 500MB and 800MB Cisco 2800 router has a
Data Transfer / sec higher than the mikrotik router RB941-2nD-TC.
