Abstract :
Composite is a material formed from a combination of two or more materials so that a new produced material has different mechanical properties and characteristics from the constituent material, both in the form of mechanical and physical properties which are the reference for substitute metal materials. In this study, teak wood was taken because in addition to its abundance, teak wood is also known for its easy production. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of variations in stirring speed of composite teak charcoal particles reinforced polyester to the impact and bending strength. The research method used was the experimental method. The manufacturing method used was the Hand Lay-Up. The variations of stirring speed used were 660 rpm, 885 rpm, and 1020 rpm. The process of making composites employed teak wood carbonization for 55 minutes. The results showed that the effects of variations in stirring speed increased the impact strength and strength bending. The best test results were both at 660 rpm with the best impact strength of 0.0851 J/mm² and the strength of bending 32.85 Mpa.
