Abstract :
The process of forming aluminum can be done in various ways, one of which is
by using a casting or mold method. To make castings, processes must be carried out
such as melting metal, making molds, pouring, and cleaning castings. Aluminum was
chosen because it has light properties and its strength can be formed by combining it
with other elements.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the hardness of the test material
and to analyze the microstructure of the test material. The method used in this study
was the Vickers test method. The purpose of the Vickers hardness test was toidentify
the level of hardness on the specimen from the results of variations in the stirring of
the specimen.
The conclusion of this study was the experimental results of hardness testing
obtained an average value of hardness in each specimen of 858.27 N/mm and the
microstructure of the test material referred to the aluminum. The micro structure of
each code had a different form.
