Abstract :
One of the systems contained in the aircraft is the "Starter Generator".
This system is one of the important systems in the engine that functions as starting
and supplying electric current. On the KT-1B WOONG BEE aircraft, a failure in
the starter generator found that the starter generator could not operate and did
not produce power, it was discovered when checking that the aircraft engine
could not start. where the engine should when turned on must be alive for a span
of ten seconds, so it is necessary to take steps to carry out troubleshooting to solve
the problem.
The damage can be overcome by the method provided by the
manufacturer, namely in accordance with the troubleshooting manual and
aircraft maintenance manual (AMM) KT-1B Woong Bee. Before carrying out the
Troubleshooting process, the first step that must be taken to ensure the damage
that occurs to the starter generator is to carry out an initial evaluation in
accordance with the procedures in the troubleshooting manual ref. T.O.2JA15-2-
3 by conducting operational test ref. T.O.2JA15-2-3. After finding the damage
then proceed with the replacement of components.
It was found an indication of damage to the starter generator after
checking, because when testing the starter generator was not energized. After all
operational tests were completed and an indication of damage was found, namely
the brush that had a limit / limition brush was exhausted and then the brush
replacement was carried out on the starter generator. then a re-check is carried
out to ensure that the system returns to normal.
