Abstract :
Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) is a gas turbine engine, which produces pneumatic and electric power in aircraft. The pneumatic power produced by the APU is 40 psi with a temperature of 3900F to 4400F, while the electric power generated is 115v AC 400 Hz 3 phase. Pneumatic power serves to assist the process of starting the engine on the aircraft and for the operation of the ac pack which functions as a regulator of air pressure and temperature in the aircraft cabin, while electric power is used for the lighting system and components in the control panel. In this study, the method used is by looking at the incident directly to observe and analyze the handling of the Boeing 737-800NG Sriwijaya Air aircraft at the Soekarno Hatta Airport Maintenance Line. In addition, this study also uses the fault tree analysis method to find the cause of the failure of No Flame Shutdown on the APU Boeing 737-800NG Sriwijaya Air. The result of the research on the No Flame Shutdown problem on the APU Boeing 737-800NG Sriwijaya Air is that there is a crack and burn on the Igniter Plug. The problem was solved by replacing the Igniter Plug referring to the AMM Boeing 737-800NG task 49-41-51. By using the fault tree analysis method, related to the No Flame Shutdown problem on the APU, 27 basic events were obtained.
