Abstract :
The Grob G120TP-A aircraft is a single-engine turbo propeller trainer
aircraft. The engine type is Roll Royce 250-B17F. The oil system on this engine
functions to supply oil as needed, which is measured by pressure, temperature, and
oil flow rate. to carry out a dry-sump lubrication system, where the oil tank is
located on the airframe which is placed on the engine mounting. The Grob G120TP-
A aircraft has a special inverted flight oil system which is designed so that the
lubrication of the aircraft continues to work normally when the aircraft is in the
inverted position. In the period from 2016 to 2020, 88 failures were found in the oil
system.
In this study, direct observation and fault tree analysis were used to
determine the cause of the failure of the Over Temperature Oil System on the Grob
G 120 Tp-A aircraft. This method is used to identify the risks that play a role in the
occurrence of failure.
The results of the analysis using the fault tree analysis method with the top
event over temperature oil system obtained 5 intermediate events and 12 basic
events, and the component that most often results in over temperature oil system is
the oil filter.
