Abstract :
Airplanes are required to continue to be airworthy. Airworthiness of the aircraft is
supported by several systems, one of which is the leading edge flap. The leading
edge flap is a lift-increasing component that is included in the leading edge devices
and its use is combined with the trailing edge flap to allow the aircraft to operate
on a short runway. The use of leading edge devices provides a change in the wing
chamber which is useful for increasing lift.
This study aims to determine the handling and analysis of Leading Edge Flap Slow
Response on Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft at PT. Sriwijaya Air. The method used in
this study was to directly observe the events at the Soekarno Hatta Airport Line
Maintenance. In addition, researchers also used the fault tree analysis method to
analyze the causes of the Leading Edge Flap Actuator Slow Response on the Boeing
737-800 NG aircraft.
The results of this study are the presence of dirt attached to the seal and actuator
surface so that the seal experiences continuous friction which results in wear of the
seal. Actions that can be taken to overcome these problems are by replacing the
actuator and functional testing the leading edge flap actuator. Based on the
analysis using the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method, there were 6 basic events
that resulted in the Leading Edge Flap Slow Response.
