Abstract :
Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) is a small gas turbine engine that functions as a pneumatic and electrical supply. The pneumatic supply comes from the bleed air system on the APU. The pneumatic supply by the APU is used for main engine starting, air conditioning, and pressurization. In this study, the direct observation method was used to observe and analyze the handling of the Boeing 737-900 ER aircraft on APU damage. The subject of this research is the Boeing 737-900 APU system. In addition, in this study, the fault tree analysis method was used to find possible causes for the Boeing 737-000 APU system problems. The troubleshooting and remove/install process refers to ATA 49, AMM (PAGEBLOCK 49-52-00), (PAGEBLOCK 49-52-00/400 The results of this study found damage to the solenoid valve, actuator spring load and based on the FTA analysis obtained basic events, namely foreign object damage (FOD), corrosion on the actuator surface, corrosion on the solenoid valve, spring bend spring broken.
