Abstract :
Agriculture airplane is a flying vehicle that can help the process of the
agriculture. In Indonesia, production of the agriculture airplane still rarely found.
The initial design of agriculture airplane can be a new prospect in agriculture
field. The agriculture airplane with high range and payload is usefull for speeding
up the process of spraying pesticides on large areas.
Process of initial sizing in this study using references from Roskam's book.
This process is start with determine the mission specification of airplane, weight,
wing area, take-off power, maximum lift coefficient, geometry sizing, and flight
performance analysis of stall speed, take-off and landing distance, and range. The
results of the determination of the plane's geometry are drawn in 3 (three)
dimensions using CATIA software.
The result of agriculture airplane design show that the aircraft has a
rectangular wing configuration with low wing position and has dihedral angle of

o
and incident angle of 4o
, single engine with tractor configuration, and
conventional tail. The technical data of the design results are as follows: take-off
gross weight of 8198 lbs, wing span of 51.218747 ft, fuselage length of 30 ft, wing
aspect ratio of 8, stall speed during take-off of 114.6595994 ft/s, stall speed
during landing of 88.619 ft/s, total landing distance 1415.912 ft, total take-off
distance of 1634.707 ft, and range of 378.315 nm.
