Abstract :
Composite is a combination of types of materials with different properties in a
composite with the aim of obtaining a new material that has properties between the
constituent materials that would not be obtained if the constituent materials stood
alone. Composite materials usually include fibers, particles, laminates or layers,
flake fillers, and matrices. Glassfiber fiber type is a material made from glass fibers
embedded in a polymer matrix. This type has been used by several MRO facilities
such as FL Technics Indonesia. The aim of this research is to obtain the best variation
of fiberglass fiber that can be used as a basis for forming drones and to determine
the tensile strength value of the composite, tensile testing is carried out using the
Qualitest brand Universal Testing Machine in the Nurtanio laboratory at the
Adisujipto Aerospace Technology Institute, Yogyakarta. Starting from composite
manufacturing using the hand layup and vacuum bagging method using epoxy resin
and EPH 555 hardener. From the tensile test results of composite specimens, analysis
of composite tensile test results with variations of 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours and 4
hours was obtained. 4 hours of heating (heat treatment) gets the highest stress value
with an average value of 271.579 MPa compared to other variations. 1 hour with an
average value of 211.095 MPa, 2 hours with an average value of 246.611 MPa, 3
hours with an average value of 257.636 MPa. From the results of macro photos of
fiberglass composite specimens subjected to heat treatment, it can be seen that the
fracture forms that occur in the specimens are LAT, LIB, LAM, and LAT.
