Abstract :
Radio communication (HT) is a form of modern communication that
utilizes radio wave propagation as a means to carry information signals to the
recipient. But in the process of transmission there are various kinds of
interference due to environmental conditions that can affect the distance of the
radiating and the quality of communication between Tx and Rx.
Based on this, an antenna height was added to one of the transceivers
(HT) by connecting it using a RG-58 coaxial cable to increase the range of the
radiating and measure the damping parameters caused by the surrounding
environment.
The test results on transceiver 1 where when the position of the antenna
is directly connected to the device and operates at a frequency of 137 MHz it can
reach 720 meters and by using the Okumura-Hatta model the propagation
attenuation value on the transmission line is 96.5 dB, at the height of the
transceiver antenna 1 is at a height of 4 meters can reach 1680 meters with a
propagation attenuation value of 108.05 dB and when the position of the antenna
is at an altitude of 8 meters it can reach 2260 meters with a propagation
attenuation value of 108.96 dB.
