Abstract :
Technology developments in the use of automated systems greatly help human
life. The problems that exist in the parking system are still relatively many vehicles
(cars) that are parked illegally so as to cause traffic, and the time that the user takes
parking relatively longer in the search for parking. Therefore, a parking system is
required which allows the user to a find parking slots quickly in order to avoid a traffic
jam which is the effect of ilegal parking. This final task uses toy cars as examples of
parked vehicles.
To design a smart parking system based on the Internet of Things (IOT), it is
designed in the form of a prototype that can provide parking slot information. Infrared
sensor object (toy car) and sends a signal to be sent to NodeMCU ESP8266.
Furthermore, NodeMCU ESP8266 will parking slot information to the cloud server.
This system can be viewed on a smartphone (android or IOS) using the telegram
application.
The test results showed that infrared sensors at a distance of 6 cm and an
angle of 5° had a relatively fast time to detect a toy car that was parked, which is at a
distance of 6 cm with a time of 4.425 seconds and at an angle of 5° with a time of
4.3357 seconds. The most effective sensor laying is in the middle position of the
parking slot with an increase in the time at the beginning of smart parking entry
(portal opening time) on the designed smart parking system, which is 69.9%.
