Abstract :
The application of information technology in libraries such as the electronic
library has been widely used to facilitate the work of librarians. But not all libraries
use information technology that offers independent access rights to visitors. The
result of this final project is an Android-based electronic library application which
is applied to the library of Adisutjipto College of Technology with the aim that the
books you want to read and borrow can be opened using a smartphone. The aim of
this research is to make books in PDF format accessible and readable and
protected against duplication without the authorization of the STTA library. In
order to achieve the objective, the method used in this research is in the form of
software design with object-oriented programming. To increase the security of the
e-library app in Adisutjipto College of Technology library, the created app also
uses a library in Android Studio called flag secure. The results of the tests carried
out indicated that protecting the books files in the Android-based electronic library
app could prevent users from taking screenshots, copying book files and
downloading files illegally. Meanwhile, the access speed to open book files in
Android based electronic library app is greatly influenced by the connection speed
and the file size of the book. From the results of this test, it can be concluded that
the books in PDF format in the electronic library of STTA library can be protected
