Abstract :
Airplanes are one of the fastest growing forms of transportation in the
technology sector. Frequently the aircraft operates, it will experience a decrease in
performance over a long period of time. To keep the aircraft safe and airworthy,
maintenance must be carried out. During maintenance on the Boeing 737-900ER
aircraft, an indication of damage to the VALVE OPEN light was found when the
crossfeed valve switch was closed. Therefore, troubleshooting is done to solve the
problem.
This study uses a troubleshooting method that refers to FIM 28-22 task 807.
The troubleshooting process is carried out by checking the parts that might cause
the VALVE OPEN light to turn on when the switch is closed. The parts to be checked
are the wiring, switch, and crossfeed valve.
Then the results showed that the damage occurred in the crossfeed valve
actuator which was malfunctioning due to overheating. So that replacement is done
to solve the problem. After replacement, an operational test is performed and the
system returns to normal.
