Abstract :
Auxiliary power unit provides power electricity and pneumatics to start the
aircraft engine and is used to run other aircraft accessories when the aircraft
engine is turned off. A failure was found in auxiliary power unit autoshutdown
while on for a vulnerable time 5-10 minutes.
Method use for problem solving is trough the BITE test. BITE-test was
carried out to identify the cause of the auxiliary power unit to autoshutdown,
BITE test found that the auxiliary power unit high oil temperature.
The failure of this high temperature oil is caused by the oil cooler not
being able to cool the oil properly, resulting in high oil temperature. After
maintenance on the oil cooler, the auxiliary power unit can return to normal work.
