Abstract :
The anti-icing cowl inlet system serves to prevent the occurrence of ice on the
engine inlet cowl. The anti-icing cowl Inlet system will transmit the hot air from the
compressor to the engine inlet cowl. This system is controlled by switches that are in
the overhead panels on the anti-icing panels.
Failure in the anti-icing cowl inlet can be known by conducting initial
identification and testing. The failure can be an open loop caused by the improper
installation of the connector cable pin. It can be known by conducting a continuity test
pin of the DP 1303 Connector (pin 9) on the cowl thermal anti-icing duct overpressure
switch.
After doing continuity test the result is open loop. This is due to the installation
of a less precise DP 1303 connector pin (pin 9). The troubleshooting process is done
by replacing a broken DP 1303 (pin 9) connector pin with the DP connector pin 1303
(pin 9) being serviceable. After replacement of the connector pin, the final test is done
to ensure that the inlet cowl anti-icing system is not problematic. The result of the final
test is cowl valve open light on the wing and engine anti-icing panel has died when the
switch is in the off position. It shows that the inlets of the cowl anti-icing system are in
good condition and reusable.
