Abstract :
Composite materials are an alternate alternate to metals used in engineering more
and more. This is because the advantage of the use of composite materials has a lighter,
stronger, correlated, and economical weight. The study was intended to know the impact of a
fraction of the volume of flax fibers on the composite with polyester resin on the attraction as
the interior of the car.
In this study the method of manufacture is the press handlay-up with fibers of flax as
nutrients and polyyester 157 bqtn-ex as matrik with a methyl ethyl ketone peroxide. 5%
treatment takes place over 3 hours. 1 CMS cut fibers with random fibers orientation.
Composites are produced with variations of fractions of 10%, 12%, 14%, and 16% of the
composite.
The pull-test results came from volume 16% by 22.42 mpa. Whereas the lowest
strength is on the fraction of 10% by 20.24 mpa. Now, the analysis of the electron scan
(shem) indicates a compound fracture.
Testing materials as interior materials (handle) of the car by the standard sae (society
of automotive engineering) is sae j 1717 with a 20-40 mpa drag test. Therefore, volume 16%
is recommended as one of the composite materials for the interior (handle) of the car because
it has a value of 22.42 mpa drag.
