Abstract :
Air transportation is exist as a solution to the problems that offer various
advantages, one of the advantages is having long range distance with relatively
short time. In addition to those advantages, air transportation also offers higher
safety than other transportation. In order to maintain safety and comfort during the
flight, maintenance activities need to be held. The purposes of this resource are to
determine the reliability, failure characteristic, and effectiveness of maintenance
components of the Air Data Unit, Video Navigation Screen Mission, and Radio
Altimeter Transceiver in EC155 B1 Eurocopter helicopter.
The method used to solve the problem in this research is Weibull distribution
analysis method by calculating the failure rate and component reliability, and to
determine the characteristics of the failure caused. The parameters used in this
distribution are the shape parameter (?) and scale parameter (?).
From the calculation analysis result, known that the Air Data Unit and
Screen Navigation Video Mission component are experienced an early failure
because both component have a values ?<1 and both component will function until
it fails at the age of 5769 hours 8 minutes and 12884 hours 35 minutes, therefore
the effective maintenance are preventive maintenance and condition monitoring.
While the Radio Altimeter Transceiver component is experienced a wear out
failure, because this component have a value ?>1 and this component will function
until it fails at age of 1387 hours 52 minutes, therefore the effective maintenance is
preventive maintenance.
