Abstract :
Research and development of UAV (Unmaned Aerial Vechiel) aircraft has
been carried out at Adisutjipto College of Technology. One of the aircraft that is
being developed is the V-SKY 14 aircraft which has special capabilities in the form
of vertical take-off and landing and flying Cruise such as fixs wing aircraft. In its
design the aircraft has 5 engines installed in the form of 4 engines that are useful
for VTOL and 1 engine that is useful for flying Cruise. This configuration causes
complex control systems as well as large system loads. Therefore, research is
conducted that aims to modify the VTOL bar so that the VTOL bar can change the
direction of the thrust of the VTOL engine, this allows the VTOL engine to be used
as an engine for flying Cruises.
The process of modelling the VTOL Bar modification and kinematics
simulation using CATIA V5R20 software, calculation of the strength of the structure
using ANSYS 15 software. In the case of loading, a load factor of 3.8 is used based
on FAR 23 regulations. There are 4 cases of loading carried out on the VTOL Bar
in accordance with the location and manouver to be carried out. After finding the
maximum stress results, we get a Margin of Safety. Manufacturing of designs that
have been made is done by the method of 3D printing, conventional machines, and
bench work.
After going through the stages of structural analysis and kinematics
simulation, it was found that the highest stress occurred in part 2 with a value of
8413500 pa. and the relationship between two different gears is having the same
angular speed with different rotational directions with the ratio between the engine
linear speed to the gear linear speed being 5: 3.
