Abstract :
Safety assessment is a method to analyse the value of function, structure and
component safetiness off an aircraft. This process can be based on direct
observation, through observing and analysing the function of system or the
component of aircraft which has been done by its designer. This safety assessment
process is done from designing stage, system building until every function from
aircraft system are enable, then the value of highest severity classification is
suitable with the requirement which has been verified in CASR part 23.1309 about
equipment, systems and installations.
In this bachelor thesis, research about aileron control system on N219
aircraft will be done using safety assessment process approach. Method used in by
the writer in this thesis in functional hazard assessment, reliability data prediction,
and fault tree analysis.
By using fault tree analysis method, can be proven that every failure condition
exist in functional hazard assessment is confirmed that this possibility is hardly
occurred. This is proven by the result of fault tree analysis, by the following
statement, obtained a fact that aileron control system is complied with requirement
which is stated in CASR part 23.1309. By the fact, aileron control system proper to
be used in N219 aircraft.
