Abstract :
The purpose of this final project is to find out how much the wing strength increases and how much it can withstand the load on the Cargo- X UAV .The wing material uses hard-foam which is coated with plastic solation and the wing uses composite sandwich with core hard-foam .In wing manufacturing process with sandwich composite material it carried out by hand lay-up method . Composite sandwich is a combination of core with outside layer, the sandwich structure is normally used for an application that needs High strength and rigidity with light weight. In addition, the utility of sandwich composites provide a protection on the surface, so that the protection function on the surface of the component is fulfilled. The method of this research is experimental method, the research started from the wing manufacturing process , tested the wing and did calculations. The test was carried out by three point bending method by loading at the center point used packaged sand and weighing 1 kg per-plastic and carried out continuously until the wing was damaged. The result of this test is obtained an increase in load that the wing material can hold by 25% and an increase in bending strength of 94%
