Abstract :
Un Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) , is a flying machine that functions
with remote control by a pilot or is able to control itself. one important part of an
uav is its wings. Because the wings of this plane produce lift and that take weight
when flying. A wing must have structural strength. The strength of the structure of
a wing is important to be able to keep an uav aircraft flying properly. Structural
strength in wings should be tested first when an uav aircraft is designed. To test
the strength of this structure, there are several ways, one of which is to use the
bending method. With the bending method which can be interpreted with the load
that occurs when the aircraft is flying where the aircraft's wings experience
curvature due to the lift force generated
Bending Tests on the wing that writers do using aircraft with composites
made by the of hand lay-up method of manufacture with fiberglass and resin.
Then on the wings of the plane is use balsa wood. The bending test method is done
using manual load without a machine and is calculated mathematically to get the
maximum moment, inertia and maximum bending stress on the aircraft wings.
The results of bending tests conducted with the three point bending method
and mathematical calculations obtained a maximum bending stress of 247583
MPa and maximum bending moment on the wings of 13.9 N.m while the Inertia
obtained was 0.00000000029475
