Abstract :
This study aims to determine the effect of sandblasting time on hardness and
microstructure in aluminum alloy materials Zn, Cr, Mg, Cu. The Vickers hardness was
calculated using the given load and the average diagonal length with the variations of 1 minute,
1.5 minutes, and 2 minutes. The total calculation of Vickers hardness was used to compare the
value of material hardness without treatment with material that has been carried out by the
sandblasting process.
The results calculation of hardness material without treatment were 151.4 kgf/mm².
The variation of 1 minute time was 220.5 kgf/mm² (50?m), 206 kgf/mm² (250?m), and 160.4
kgf/mm² (1000?m). The variation of 1.5 minutes was 228.3 kgf/mm² (50?m), 206 kgf/mm²
(250?m), and 160.4 kgf/mm² (1000?m). And the 2 minute variation was 245.2 kgf/mm² (50?m),
213 kgf/mm² (250?m), and 165.2 kgf/mm² (1000?m). The results of microstructure testing
indicated the differences in the density of the micro structures in each part.
