Abstract :
Electricity is a prime need for human being. Electricity consumption in Indonesia has increased. Troubles come when the availability of electricity is not enough. Therefore, human created renewable energy that have the potential to your surroundings such as of water energy, solar system, and wind energy. Wind speed in Indonesia is usually under 5,9 m/s. The low speed is used to twist savonius wind turbines. The construction turbine is very simple, composed of two half cylindrical blades. In savonius wind turbines L airflow on the right side is larger than with the arch a quarter of a circle. Testing was conducted using wind turbines in diameter of 40 cm, height of 40 cm and 3 blades, out of 15 degrees. The instruments used were anemometer, multimeter, tachometer, and barhometer. The data were undertaken for 20 times to get the best result. The rpm average at the savonius turbine without additional triangle was 363,68 rpm and the output power generator was 5,34 watts. While turbine savonius with additional to a triangle was 150,22 rpm and value of output was 1,62 watts. So, the turbine savonius without the addition of triangle got round higher the rpm and higher output power.
