Abstract :
The purpose of the study was to recalculate the language laboratory room
at the Adisutjipto College of Technology Yogyakarta. From the results of
theoretical calculations, the need for cooling load in the existing laboratory room.
Cooling load calculation is calculated using the difference in room
temperature and design with a temperature of 20 oC. What is calculated is the
outside load (heat from walls, floors, roofs, glass, ventilation, and infiltration)
and internal loads (heat from lamps and people). The total room calculation is
used to compare the cooling capacity according to the existing one.
The results of the calculation of the cooling load in the language laboratory
room is 47143.72 Btu / hour equivalent to 5.5 PK. While the capacity installed in
the language laboratory room is 36000 Btu / hour, equivalent to 4 PK with a total
of 4 AC units, each unit consists of 1 PK equivalent to 9000 Btu / hour. The AC
capacity needed to cool the language laboratory room is 50500 Btu / hour
equivalent to 5.5 PK. With a total of 6 AC units consisting of 5 AC units each with
a capacity of 1 PK or equivalent to 9000 Btu / hour and 1 AC unit with a capacity
of 1/2 PK equals 5500 Btu / hour.
