Abstract :
Bordes plate that used in this research was AISI Series 5011 low carbon steel with the carbon composition (C) 0,1125%, and Chromium (Cr) 0,3380%. This plate has the characteristic of wavy shaped parallelogram on one of its side, so it can reduce the cause of slipping. Other than building construction, it was also used for bus floors and car mats. This research aims to identify about the impact strength and bending strength of the AISI Series 5011 low carbon steel. The current used in the SMAW welding process were 60?70 A, welding voltage of 25 V and E6013 electrode with the diameter of 2,6 mm. The test that used in this research were Charpy impact test and bending test. The highest Charpy impact strength was achieved on the raw material with the impact value of 1,341 J/mm² and the lowest Charpy impact strength was achieved on the SMAW welding method with the heat input value of 272,90 J/mm and impact value of 0,541 J/mm². The results of the bending test on the AISI Series 5011 low carbon steel showed that the highest bending strength was on the SMAW welding method with the heat input value of 318,40 J/mm and strength of bend valued at 2249 MPa. The lowest bending strength was achieved on the raw material with the value of 886,14 MPa.
