Abstract :
Low pressure turbine shaft is very important for the engine as a link
between the booster shaft and LPT rotor which is useful for re-sucking air into the
engine through the inlet rotated through the turbine which utilizes hot air resulting
from combustion from the Combustion chamber which is changed by the turbine,
and supplying rear support of high pressure turbine through the No. 4 roller
bearing, as a buffer against the axial load generated by the engine.
Engine that has reached its overhaul time will do maintenance that will
check all the components that are on the engine and to see the condition of the
engine it is necessary to conduct a Boroscope inspection that can determine the
condition of the components that are in the engine.
After inspection through Borocope it was found that the damage contained
in the LPT shaft had exceeded the tolerance limit, which caused components not
to be reused. Maintenance done is condition monitoring by replacing LPT shaft
components with new components.
