Abstract :
In this final project a bit error rate (BER) simulation was introduced using
M-QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) based on software using MATLAB
R2016a software. This study aims to simulate a basic OFDM system by testing the
performance of M-QAM modulation against interference that can occur during
transmission with the Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel model. Bit
error rates are used to assess systems that can send digital data from one address
to another.Bit error rates are used to assess a systems that can send digital data
from one address to another.
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a transmission
technique that uses several orthogonal (multicarrier) frequency pieces. Each of
these subcarriers is modulated with conventional modulation techniques at a low
symbol ratio. At this time OFDM was chosen as a modulation technique for
wireless communication. This is because OFDM systems can provide large data
speeds with optimal bit error rates and are quite resistant to transmission line
interference.
Based on the simulation and the results of the analysis, it was found that
the use of different modulation schemes affected the bit error rate. And the use of
the OFDM system makes the BER system better.
