Abstract :
Room mapping can resolved manually, but manual mapping have a high value of
failure, to simplify manual mapping proccess to be done more accurate we need a
system wich works automatically, therefore in this research the researcher him self
build the system that works as a 3D room mapping.
In a previous research a 2D mapping system was created, from the result of
previous research a 3D room mapping system will be developed in this research.
The system is using a LIDAR sensor wich able to measure a maximum distance in
4 meters and 180 degree of rotation. The test is carried out by comparing the sensor
measuring distance with the actual distance, testing in dark conditions, testing
horizontally and vertically, and reliability test.
The result show the lidar sensor measures distance ranging from 0 to 400cm
with the biggest error 2,6cm in testing, this system is also capable of working in
dark conditions. In reliability test the percentage is 85%, this system already make
a 3D shapes result but the 3D shape projection is not as expected.
