Abstract :
Operational costs are one of the considerations in selecting the type of aircraft. Operational costs consist of direct operational costs (DOC) and indirect operational costs (IOC). With low operational costs, a higher level of profit can be obtained. This study estimates the amount of operational costs for several types of aircraft that can be operated on the Yogyakarta-Bali route for consideration by Sriwijaya Air. The type of aircraft used as an alternative is that some of the aircraft from Sriwijaya Air will be transferred to NAM Air, a subsidiary of Sriwijaya itself. Operational costs are calculated based on crew costs, fuel costs, rental costs, insurance costs, maintenance costs and indirect costs. Determination of the type of aircraft by comparing operational costs, where the aircraft chosen is the one with the smallest load factor and cost per ASK. For the Yogyakarta ? Bali route, the B737 - 900ER aircraft has the smallest operational cost per ASK (available seat kilometer) in addition to that to reach the break even point, the B737 - 900ER aircraft requires the lowest load factor compared to other equivalent aircraft. With these considerations, to replace the fleet currently operating, the B737- 900ER aircraft is the right type to operate on the Yogyakarta ? Bali route in terms of operating costs
