Abstract :
Aircraft maintenance is something that should be done on the entire
aircraft system, maintenance must be taken because each component has a
certain reliability and age limit. The purpose of this final project is to determine
proper preventive maintenance for engine control system of KT-1B aircraft. To
determine the right solution, the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) method
is used as a maintenance management strategy. The maintenance strategy aims to
maintain the function of the asset in the context of its operation.
The method that used is Reliability Centered Maintenance method with
Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Logic Tree Analysis (LTA) and Risk
Periority Number (RPN). The first step is to identify the failure of each
component. Each failure mode and failure effects that occur on each component
are translated into the FMEA table. After that, do Risk Periority Number analysis
by looking at the level of severity (Saverity), Occurrence rate (Occurrence) and
Detection level (Detection) of each component. The final step is to determine the
appropriate treatment recommendations for failures that occur in each
component.
The following conclusions are: (1) Identify the frequent failure of KT-1B
engine control system components ie ELS fail, FCU defects or defects and PCL
errors. (2) Based on the risk level of failure, 2 components have a high risk of
failure rate that is PCL and ELS, and medium level for FCU component. (3) by
looking at the RPN value, it is concluded that the three components have a
moderate failure risk level. The appropriate preventive maintenance
recommendations are condition direct (CD) for FCU and Run To Failure (RTF)
components for PCL and ELS components.
