Abstract :
Wind tunnels are tools used in aerodynamic research to study the
characteristics of airflow. With the Wind tunnel in need of Test Objects to assist in
wind tunnel testing. The size of the test object used must also match the size in the
test section. To get the appropriate size of test object in cfd analysis to see vector
speed on the test object and air flow around the wall test section whether there is
interference or not. The test objects used are airfoils, balls and half balls. The test
object will be placed in the test section measuring 40 cm x 40 cm with a speed of
15m /s. Furthermore, CFD analysis will be performed to get the best test object size.
The object of research in this thesis is the design of test objects that will be
used for practical purposes or basic research using wind tunnels. In the process of
preparing this thesis, there are stages or methods of data collection that the author
performs in compiling this final task, namely The Method of Literature Study, Data
Analysis Method and Internet Browsing
Judging from the results of vector speed analysis, the cfd simulation results
are obtained using airfoil sizes 10 cm, 15 cm, 20 cm and on the size of balls and
half balls using sizes 10 cm and 15cm.
