Abstract :
Drone Target is a vehicle that looks like an aircraft which can operate
without pilot inside it, it is controlled by remote. The drone target has a mission
as a shooting target, so it is very appropriate to be used as a military aid in
shooting exercises. This study aims to discuss the initial compounding of a drone
target, including getting configuration and modeled in 3 dimensions, aerodynamic
characteristics, range and endurance and static stability of the drone target be
named AD-05.
The writing of this scientific work specially discuss the initial design of the
AD-05 Drone Target use literature study methods and interviews from the experts.
In the design process carried out, there are three softwares used: CATIA, ANSYS,
and XFLR5. CATIA software is used for modeling aircraft in 3-dimensional form,
ANSYS software is used to find the aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft
design, XFLR5 software is used to simulate static stability of the planes.
After calculate the geometry, aerodynamic characteristics, range and
endurance and static stability analysis, the results of the AD-05 Drone Target
have a maximum weight is 71.654 kg with 3 m of span length, 55.56 m / s of flight
speed, aerodynamic characteristics that are expected can fly the Drone Target
AD-05, and the maximum flight time is 60.705 minutes with 309.577 km of
maximum flight distance, but the AD-05 Drone Target has not met the
requirements for static longitudinal stability.
