Abstract :
Reliability is the main target of maintenance activities in order to achieve
flight safety. One of the factors to achieve this is the reliability of the brake system,
the brake system has a role in every flight to support flights when landing, take-off
and turning on Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft. That way, it requires reliability
evaluation, especially on the brake system that often fails
The method in the analysis of brake system reliability is to use the Weibull
distribution method. The first step is to do damage data collection, then perform a
data processing process that aims to determine the reliability, failure rate and type
of treatment that is effective and appropriate from the analyzed system
From the analysis of the calculation of the reliability of the brake system
on the Cessna Grand caravan C208B aircraft, it can be seen that the average
component will function until it fails at the age of 456.0432 hours and the type of
treatment that is effective to do is based on a decrease in the performance of the
system which is reduced little by little. gradual degradation with the value (?) =
1.242023798 the failure experienced is failure of wear-out, so that effective
treatment to be done is preventive maintenance
