Abstract :
An aircraft engine is a component of an aircraft that functions as an
airplane thrust in carrying out its missions. An aircraft engine need a regular
maintenance to achieve optimal performance, efficient and increase usage age.
One form of maintenance on the engine is analyzing engine performance. The
purpose of this study was to determine the results of the T56-A-15 LFE engine
performance analysis in ground and cruising conditions and that occured in both
conditions.
Literature and interview methods are the methods used in this study.
Literature method by collecting several references in writing the papers. Then,
interview method with directly interaction with the engineer and instructur.The
technique in analyzing data is by using parametric cycle analysis of real engine
and engine performance analysis, the calculate it with microsoft excel program.
After analyzing, the result ra obtained according to their conditions. At
ground test conditions, the value of specific thrust = 32.07 N/(kg/s), thrust specific
fuel consumption = 620.75 (mg/s)/N, propulsive efficiency = 18.92 %, thermal
efficiency = 0.004 % and overall efficiency = 0.001 %. At cruising flight
conditions, the value of specific thrust = 596.88 N/(kg/s), thrust specific fuel
consumption = 34.30 (mg/s)/N, propulsive efficiency = 13.41 %, thermal
efficiency = 0.52 % and overall efficiency = 0.07 %. Changing that occur from
ground test to cruising condition are increasing at value of thrust specific,
thermal efficiency and overall efficiency. And there was decreasing at value of
thrust specific fuel consumption dan propulsive efficiency.
