Abstract :
The UAV is an airplane without a pilot in the aircraft. Current
technological developments have been very advanced and developing rapidly,
namely in the world of aviation that can facilitate human work to achieve the
desired goals. One of them is the development of unmanned aircraft or known as
UAV (Unmaned Aerial Vehicle). In the objectives to be achieved in this study to
conduct vertical take off and landing (VTOL) UAV V-SKY 14 with a mission to
monitor traffic in accordance with the initial design and compare the final
geometry of each component on the UAV V-SKY 14 after being manufactured with
initial design data geometry.
In the manufacturing process, it is necessary to design geometry data in
advance to facilitate the manufacturing process. In this manufacturing process
there are several steps that must be passed to obtain a complete and perfect
aircraft manufacturing result. The selection of tools is an important role in
determining the manufacturing process of UAV components, the author uses a
laser cutting and hot wire machine for the cutting process part of each component
of the UAV then performs the process of adhesive bonding and bolt connector on
styrofoam and plywood. For final manufacturing results, finishing is done by
sanding on each component of UAV V-SKY 14.
The manufacturing process used for manufacturing UAV V-SKY 14 is a
manufacturing process that includes measurement, cutting, gluing, connecting,
sanding and assembling. In the process of measuring manufacturing results with
the initial design found differences in the average percentage comparison size of
5.879%
