Abstract :
This research was intended to investigate the torque and power of motorcycle
with plastic waste fuel using fractional distiliation. The increase of plastic use was
as the consequence of technology and industry development and also the population
growth. In Indonesia, specifically the need of plastic kept increasing until
approximately 200 ton per year.
This experiment was conducted in a dynotest tool at the Mototech Workshop
and at Gadjah Mada University Laboratory of Petroleum Gas and Coal Technology.
In the torque and power test using liquid polypropylene fuel using Honda Beat 2015
injection engine at the speed of 93.5 KMH, the results were 1000 mbar pressure, 35%
humidity and 31.3 °C temperature resulting the maximum torque of 5142 RPM and
power of 8.4 HP. Meanwhile, the torque and power test using peripheral fuel using
Honda Beat 2015 injection engene at the speed of 94.3 KMH, the result were 1000
mbar presure, 35% humidity and 30.8 °C temperature resulting in the maximum
torque of 5366 RPM and power of 8.2 HP. In conclusion, the torque and motorcycle
engine power using plastic distillation fuels indicates equivalent or higher
magnitudes than the peripheral fuel.
