Abstract :
Indonesia has a source of renewable energt that has not been optimally utilized such as
wind energt, water energl, solar energt and others. Wind speeds in Indonesia ore generally
below 5.9 m/s. The low wind speeds can be used to rotate wind turbines of savonius type- The
turbine construction is very simple. It consists of two half-cylinder blades. In its development, the
savonius turbine has undergone many changes in the shary of the rotor, such as the L-shaped
rotor design. The savonius L wind turbine is the development of the fr* of wind turbine
sqvonius- In the santonius Lwind turbine theflow of air on the side of the blade is larger than the
circular side of the quarter .
The test was performed using an L type savonius wind turbine with a turbine diameter of
40 cm and 40 cm turbine height. In this test the wind turbine used 3 blades. Each blade has a
curve of lf , I5o, and 2f angles. The tools used in the test were sn anemometer, a multimeter,
and tu;hometer. The tests were conducted on a beach for 30 times thst the data got the best
results. Then, the overage value of wind speed, voltage, current and rototion generated by the
turbine were taken
ilts obtained that the highest turn speed on the turbine 15o was j45.7j rpm,
while the lowest speed of the turbine lff was 178.27 rpm. The highest ouput volue on the turbine
2f wqs 12.75 watts, while the lowest output value on the turbine If was 9-19 watts. The highest
efficiency value on the turbine 2f was 50.05o/o, for the turbine lf was 24.2195, while for the
iowest ifu"i"n"yvalue at the turbine 15" was 22-86%.
