Abstract :
With the current technological developments there are so many uses of aluminum on
its use as an example of propeller. Propellers are aluminum alloys used in transport
technology that are useful for generating thrust, generating power, increasing the
efficiency of the aircraft and helping to cool the engine with the wind flow. The
casting method was a pouring method with temperature variations of 700ºC, 750ºC,
and 800ºC. The casting products were tested for the micro structure, tensile, and
hardness.
The results showed that the temperature variation of 700ºC had a tensile
strength of 17.52 Mpa. The variation temperature of 750ºC had the lowest tensile
strength of 6.97 Mpa. The temperature variation of 800ºC had the highest tensile
strength of 18,73 Mpa. The result of the highest hardness test at a temperature
variation of 700ºC was 82.71 VHN. The result of the lowest hardness test on the
temperature variation of 750ºC was of 75.488 VHN. The result of the hardness test at
the temperature variation 800ºC was 82,685 VHN. It is supported by the result of
micro structure. The temperature variation of 700ºC indicated the change of
alumunium structure to be smaller and evenly distributed. At the 750ºC temperature
variation, the aluminum structure was larger and diffused. At a temperature variation
of 800ºC, the alumunium structure was larger and evenly distributed.
