Abstract :
Welding is the common method for joining material used in construction
and industrial applications. The variables of welding and reheating process are
the important as they affect the mechanical properties of the welded materials
after joining. This study used Gas Tungsten Arch Welding (GTAW) method and
the reheating process used Gas Oxy Acetylene weld. The Variations used welding
without reheating then by reheating 1-2-4 times of heating (20 seconds for eack
time). The mechanical properties obtained from the tensile testing. Based on the
analysis of data, the longer the heating time given, the higher value of the tensile
strength and the distortion achieved. In the welding without reheating, 1 time had
a tensile strength value of 389,361 N/mm2 meanwhile, in the welding with
reheating 4 times had 404,723 N/mm2. In the welding without treatment the
reheating had 5,75? distortion value while in the reheating 4 times, it had 2.5?
distortion value.
