Abstract :
This study was intended to calculate the cooling load on Adisutjipto building in
Adisutjipto College of Technology Yogyakarta. From the results of the theoretical
calculation, it can be seen the cooling load needs in each room in Adisutjipto building.
The calculation of the cooling load was calculated using differences in room
temperature and design temperature with temperatures of 22°C-71.6°F, 23°C-73.4°F,
24°C-75.2°F, and 25°C-77°F. In this case, the calculation was the external loads (heat
from walls, floors, roofs, glass, and ventilation and infiltration) and the internal loads
(heat from lights and humans). The total calculation in the room was used to compare
the cooling capacity according to the existing cooling load.
The results of the calculation of the total room in the Adisutjipto building with a
design temperature of 23°C-73.4°F was 300082.44 Btu/hour or equivalent to 33.34 PK.
The cooling engine capacity set for each room in Adisutjipto building was a machine
with a capacity of 1/2 PK, 3/4 PK, 1 PK, 1 1/2 PK, and 2 PK with the number of machines
according to the cooling load requirements of each room in Adisutjipto building
