Abstract :
At this time technological sophistication has been embedded in human milinea in the
world. Technological sophistication in question that originated can only see the text but has been
developed so that we can now see pictures and video. The existence of local area network (LAN)
is very helpful to transmit data in the form of text, images and video quickly. But now some LAN
networks have been abandoned because of the lack of cable that is still using. Now people are
switching to using wireless networks are much more flexible in its use especially with wireless
technology that can cover a large area. The IEEE 802.11 protocol is a standard wireless
Internet access with generations of wireless development.
in its development the IEEE 802.11 protocol has several types that are distinguished by
its operating frequency and data transfer rate. The fourth generation of the protocol is 802.11n
wireless which has faster data transfer speeds than previous generations. The generation is able
to transmit data such as text, images and video simultaneously. The IEEE 802.11n protocol is
appropriately used for this because the fourth generation has a new technologi that is multiple
input multiple output (MIMO) technology on wireless antenna.
This thesis provides an analysis of the determination of the distance of the IEEE
802.11n protocol with non-obstacle coverage and the determination of the distance value with
the range of obstacle. Thus, it can be known at a certain distance to work optimization of wifi
with the standard protocol IEEE 802.11n
