Abstract :
Supervision of aircraft safety during take off and landing must be taken
into account, most aircraft accidents occur when the aircraft takes off and
landing. Air traffic accidents can occur due to human factors or due to
environmental factors. Uneven surface of the runway asphalt is one of the main
cause in one of the environmental factors.
To overcome these problems, an Accelerometer-based runway surface
level detection system is designed to use Arduino Uno as a data processor, MPU-
6050 accelerometer sensor to detect asphalt surface slope, also as a vibraton
detector due to asphalt surface unevenness. The data logger is used to store the
data result from the sensor, the LCD display to tell the viewer that the system is
ready to work. Microsoft Excel software is used to display data in the form of
graphs of vibration readings and slope of an area that can be identified as
deflection or damage to the asphalt surface.
The results of the research using MPU-6050 accelerometer sensor is
able to measure the asphalt slope with an average of X axis error of - 0.625%,
and Y axis error of -0.318% and Hall Effect sensor KY-003 is able to measure the
system mileage with an average error of +0,67%.
