Abstract :
Wildfires are events which may occur naturally or triggered by human
activities. The impact of forest fires one of them on the air transport sector due to
disruption of flight schedule and also society as a whole is impaired because of
polluted smoke from fires. Of these problems, we need a tool that can be operated
to detect the location of the fire and were able to roam in the forest geographical
conditions. Through air monitoring is the most effective way. Quadcopter with
ArduPilot controller can be used for monitoring forest conditions in addition to
the location of fire detection systems.
Location of the fire detection system was built using the Arduino Mega
2560 as the core control. Location of the fire detection system is equipped with a
GPS module Ublok Neo-6M to know the position, New Way Fire Sensor, Smoke
Sensor MQ-7, Radio Telemetry to send the information to groundstation.
Location of the fire detection system works by differentiating the light
intensity and density of smoke. If the flame sensor detects the presence of fire and
smoke sensors detect the presence of smoke, the Arduino will read the GPS
coordinates and transmit information in the form of fire and smoke conditions as
well as the location of fire through radio telemetry and displayed using a visual
basic on groundstation.
