Abstract :
Background : Congestive heart failure refers to cardiac dysfunction characterized by the inadequate ability of the heart to efficiently circulate blood throughout the entire body. This phenomenon can arise from cardiac structural anomalies, functional abnormalities, and various precipitating factors, resulting in the accumulation of pulmonary fluid. Consequently, this situation can compromise the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide, thereby eliciting symptoms of dyspnea and fatigue in affected patient. One evidence-based management approach that can be employed to alleviate dyspnea in patients with congestive heart failure is the administration of orthopneic positioning. Purpose : In order to mitigate dyspnea in patients with nursing-related issues pertaining to ineffective breathing patterns, this serves as a guiding reference and an important consideration for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and relevant healthcare institutions in formulating the initial management standard operating procedure (SOP) regarding the implementation of orthopneic positioning for patients with congestive heart failure. Method : The research employed a case research method to investigate patients experiencing congestive heart failure with nursing issues related to ineffective breathing patterns. The method aimed to describe the outcomes based on nursing care provided. Results : Based on the intervention of orthopneic positioning administered to both patients with congestive heart failure, who were experiencing nursing issues related to ineffective breathing patterns, the evaluation demonstrated favorable results. These results were manifested by the restoration of effective respiratory patterns, as evidenced by a notable decrease in dyspnea. Suggestion: The implementation of orthopneic positioning can be using for helping reduction dyspnea for Congestive heart failure patient.
